Personal Code of Professional Ethics
As a member of the International Coach Federation, I pledge to comply with ICF Standards of Ethical Conduct, to treat people with dignity as free and equally human beings, and to model these standards with those whom I coach. If I breach this pledge of ethics or any ICF Standards of Ethical Conduct, I agree that the ICF in it's sole discretion may hold me accountable for so doing. I further agree that ICF's holding me accountable for my breach may include loss of my ICF membership or my ICF certification. As a professional coach, I acknowledge and honor my ethical obligations to my coaching clients and colleagues and to the public at large.
I was trained and certified through one of the ICF approved organizations,
iPEC Coaching. I earned my certification through an ICF Accredited Coaching Certification Program. I am a graduate of iPEC Coaching with the designation
of Certified Empowerment Coach (CEC). The iPEC Coaching curriculum meets and exceeds the educational requirements established by the ICF for coach training institutions and fulfills ICF requirements for post-graduate credentialing through the ICF.
- There are hundreds of training organizations in the United States yet less than fifty of them are ICF Accredited Coach Training Programs.
- Coaching is a profession that has grown exponentially over the past 10 years and not all those representing themselves as coaches are trained professionals within the field. The ICF Code of Ethics, Complaint Process and Credentialing Process establish a foundation for self-regulation. However, only those coaches who are members of the ICF fall under this form of self-regulation.
