What kind of “gas” are you fueling your tank with?
In August of 2007 I wrote a blog post that I was reminded of when I heard my Pastor’s sermon yesterday entitled ”Is Your Tank Full” His message was one of enlightenment. He perfectly makes things real. He made us all realize that we have a choice to keep ” our tanks” filled and more importantly, we get to choose what we fill our tanks with. Thank you Pastor Jay for that reminder!
Upon further reflection of my old post, I realized how much I have grown spiritually and how the same post would be somewhat different today. When I wrote the original post in 2007, I was full. I was grateful, I was aware and I was serene. I was content and extremely satisfied with my life. Today, I see my life the same way. Yet, I realize it is so much better because I know mind, body and soul, it is all possible because of the faith upon which it is grounded.
My beliefs afford me the clarity to “choose wisely” and the ability to carry on with a full tank through all of life’s up and downs. I am free of the days when there was nothing to hold on to if things didn’t go according to plan. I am free from lack of focus and direction in my decisions because they are now deep rooted in my faith and are at my fingertips without effort. I exercise freedom of choice and that ability affords me freedom to choose how I fill my tank. Through all the wonders, adversity, joy or pain, I know that I can face the day with love and hope and know that tomorrow will be a better day.
The key to maintaining that fullness goes right back to what I’m fueling my tank with and the levels at which I keep them. Every day we get to choose what ingredients we use and the amounts we use to keep our “tanks” full.
What are you fueling your tank with?
Is it your faith, is it love, hope, your passions, your purpose, or a combination of them all?
The fuel we feed ourselves daily generates what we manifest in our every day, our lives and our relationships. Every once in a while, stop, breathe and ask yourself, what am I fueling myself with?
The special kind of fuel that brings me peace and the ability to be open and receptive to the messages around me is made up of:
G – Gratitude
A – Awareness
S - Serenity
