“be great, but more importantly, be grateful.”
I recently read a blog post on leadership and some quotes that reminded me about the infinite power we all have to be the best we can be! One of my favorite quotes is:
“We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.”

What is The Power of Coaching?
THE POWER OF COACHING
Imagine yourself stuck in a house of darkness with no light switch. This house is fully furnished with everything you need in life but you can’t see any of it. You know there are rooms with windows and doors and these rooms have all your furniture, clothes and personal belongings but in the darkness you can’t seem to find just what you need when you need it. Since you are familiar with the layout, every day you get up take a shower, get dressed and look in the mirror that you know is on the wall but because of the darkness you cannot really see yourself clearly. In fact the only thing you can see in the mirror is a blurry shadow of your silhouette but you can’t really see the details of who you are. You go down to the kitchen make your breakfast and sit down at your table to eat, but you can’t really see what you’re eating. This darkness follows you day after day everywhere you go. At times you feel frustrated because you know something is missing in your life but you just can’t pin point what it is. You have the desire to look in the mirror and really see yourself but the darkness is all you have ever known and that thought seems almost absurd.Mar 21 -
Are You Stuck?
What’s keeping you stuck on the rock?

Are you repeating the same routine over and over and never moving off the rock? Do you feel stuck? Do you have a vision of what you wish your life could be like?
Before a caterpillar becomes a butterfly it must shed the protective coat of the chrysalis so it could fly and reach its full potential. As humans desiring development, we too must go through a process of transformation.
Are you ready to live life completely on your own terms, with vision, purpose and passion? What’s holding you back from taking the first step?
Self-reflection can be an uncomfortable task for some. It’s not easy to confront your weaknesses, to look within and examine what makes you tick. Yet, in the process of this sometimes painful journey, you begin to tap into the strengths and power that lies within you. The good news is the “painful” experience is actually the transformation process at work, moving you forward and the first indication that you have begun your journey of transformation.

“The Gift of Giving Back”
I read many blogs and articles that span a variety of topics. What stands out for me the most is any topic “of value”. I read personally to build a better future, by gaining knowledge, expanding my thoughts, raising my awareness and becoming well rounded. On the other hand, sometimes, it’s nice to just read something that gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling, one that lifts you up or just makes you smile..

Did I just hear you complain about… Featured
Last night Pete & I watched ”New Girl” definitely not a PG! family type of show, nevertheless it was funny and I did Laugh out Loud!
So there’s one male character who’s a wannabe and he tries to hook up with every girl who breathes! What I liked was how they bash him for his crude behavior and more so, how his guy roommates keep him accountable for it with what they’ve dubbed a “Dou... B..” Jar. Every time he makes a “DB” comment or displays “DB” behavior, he has to pay up and contribute to the Jar! For example, the “New Girl” was crying her eyes out over a breakup and he proceeds to take his shirt off to show off his pecks, I would imagine to take her mind off things…lol

Integrity is… Featured
I was honored to be invited to be one of the Coaches who took part in the “Above Board” Chamber of Florida‘s panel discussion “How to be a Better You in Business.”
One of the questions asked related to how the word “integrity” is being used so loosely and has become a “buzz word” in business and networking. My response ended with, “when your actions and behaviors are consistent, ultimately those “acts” will tell the story, for better or for worse.”

The Four Agreements Featured
Do you know what it feels like to have something constantly surface in your life and every time it does, you think of the same thing? Well, that "thing" for me is "The Four Agreements". I read this book as part of my curriculum when I was in training with iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching) and eight years later, it is still a very big part of my life, my coaching, my personal journey, as well as my overall philosophy on life! So why the long lasting connection? This book offers four simple agreements and I am here to tell you, they have been life changing.

Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Featured
In our darkest moments, we could never imagine ever having another happy day; can you relate to that? It’s that feeling of the walls crashing in on you and all you can think of is how will I ever get past this, beyond this?On such a day, my Coach, Fredi Baker said to me, “Elle, in the midst of all this, there is a gift.” I thought the woman lost her mind. I left the session feeling confused, angry, and very discouraged. How is it possible for me to see “a gift” in all this when I feel as though my heart has crashed, my life has lost its zeal…

What kind of “gas” are you fueling your tank with? Featured
In August of 2007 I wrote a blog post that I was reminded of when I heard my Pastor’s sermon yesterday entitled ”Is Your Tank Full” His message was one of enlightenment. He perfectly makes things real. He made us all realize that we have a choice to keep ” our tanks” filled and more importantly, we get to choose what we fill our tanks with. Thank you Pastor Jay for that reminder!
Upon further reflection of my old post, I realized how much I have grown spiritually and how the same post would be somewhat different today. When I wrote the original post in 2007, I was full. I was grateful, I was aware and I was serene. I was content and extremely satisfied with my life. Today, I see my life the same way. Yet, I realize it is so much better because I know mind, body and soul, it is all possible because of the faith upon which it is grounded.
